Ancient healing secrets of Yunnan

Yunnan is home to 25 ethnic minorities, each with its own unique culture and beliefs, as well as distinctive approaches to health and natural healing. Over a century ago, our founder, Fan Dequing, immersed himself in these diverse traditions, drawing wisdom from various healing practices. He ultimately unified these medical insights to develop his own herbal philosophy, leading to the establishment of Dianhetang.

Tibetan
X
Tibetan health philosophy emphasizes the balance between the body and mind. They believe that in the high-altitude environment, maintaining health requires balancing the body's energies through traditional Tibetan medicine. Beyond herbal remedies, Tibetans also use meditation, yoga, and deep breathing as spiritual healing practices to maintain inner peace and health. Health is seen not only as physical well-being but also as mental clarity and stability.
Yi
X
The Yi people's health concept stresses the unity between humans and nature. They use traditional practices such as herbal therapy, massage, and acupuncture to balance the body. They pay particular attention to seasonal changes, adjusting their health through diet and herbal remedies to help the body adapt to climate shifts especially during spring and autumn to stay healthy.
Hani
X
Hani people value the harmonious relationship between humans and nature. Living in the mountains, they rely on diet and herbal practices to strengthen their immune systems. The Hani also embrace natural healing methods like forest bathing, believing that immersion in nature helps maintain both physical and mental health.
Bai
X
Bai traditional medicine focuses on the balance of qi (vital energy) and blood flow. They believe that health hinges on the smooth flow of energy within the body. Bai people use herbal remedies, acupuncture, and massage to promote circulation. In humid environments, they place great emphasis on adjusting their diet to counterbalance excess moisture and maintain their health.
Dai

The Dai live in a hot and humid climate, which poses challenges for maintaining health. To combat the effects of humidity and heat, they use sour, cold, and spicy foods in their diet, which help balance the body's internal temperature and energy. Dai people also use traditional herbs and food to clear heat and detoxify the body, promoting a feeling of freshness and balance.
